Short answer

*220# checks fines. *710*0# pays them (or pay at traffitech-ghpay.nib.com.gh). *920*57# checks insurance.

Many codes are going round on WhatsApp. Here is what the Police page lists:

CodeWhat it does
*220#Check unpaid fines. Use car number or licence number.
*710*0#Pay fines. Option 6 clears a DVLA block.
*920*57#Check if a car is insured. Use the car number.

The Police page also lists a website for paying: traffitech-ghpay.nib.com.gh. Type it yourself.

Codes that differ: some reports say *7100# or *222# (option 6) for paying. The Police page lists *710*0# and traffitech-ghpay.nib.com.gh. Confirm by dialling *220# or calling 059 692 2402.

Tips

  • Type the code yourself. Do not dial a code from a strange SMS.
  • A USSD menu will never ask for your MoMo PIN before you choose to pay. Only enter your PIN on your own network's payment prompt.
  • Save the Call Centre number: 059 692 2402.
