How to pay a fine safely

Last checked 3 Nov 2026 · 1 min read

Short answer

Police list two ways to pay: the website traffitech-ghpay.nib.com.gh (type it yourself) and *710*0#. Never send MoMo to a person.

Pay only through the channels the Police page lists. There are two:

  1. Website: type traffitech-ghpay.nib.com.gh yourself in your browser. Do not use a link from an SMS. Enter your Ticket Number. Pay with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money, or a bank card.
  2. USSD: dial *710*0#. Follow the steps. Option 6 is for clearing a DVLA block.

Some reports also mention ghana.gov.gh. The Police page lists the two above. If unsure, call 059 692 2402.

Safety rules

  • Scam sign: Never send MoMo to a personal number (like 024..., 055...).
  • Scam sign: Never give cash to an officer. Note the name, badge number, place and time. Report it.
  • Yes: Keep your receipt or reference number.

Someone else can pay for you. But the fine stays on the car until the payment shows.

If you pay, you cannot contest later. Check the proof first.
